I am aware this book is currently very popular throughout America and will soon be hitting the big screens soon. The author, Veronica Roth, is a young author who has written little other than the Divergent trilogy, by far her most popular set of books. The genre of this book is sci-fi dystopian. I have read books like this before, specifically the Hunger Games, and have high expectations for this book because of the standard seemingly alike books have already set for it. I find the dystopian genre to be very interesting. I love how the protagonist must rebel whatever circumstances their dystopian society puts them in. The challenge of this is always a strong storyline. I predict this book will live up to its lofty expectations. I already know how well this book has sold, and I'm sure there is no way a book would sell as well as Divergent does if it was not well written.

ReplyDeleteI agree that this sounds like a great book. There have certainly been huge expectations for it, and if I ever decide to read it, I would hope that the story would live up to them. I have read the Hunger Games though, and they were incredible. The dystopian genre is different from anything else out there right now, and obviously they are very popular currently. I hope you are enjoying the book!
From what I can tell, it seems like you are very interested in dystopian novels. I agree with you that the Divergent series has taken the country by storm, so reading this book is wise choice. I know that a hand full of my friends have already read it, and the other are planning on reading it soon, in preparation for the movie to be released. Since I'm assuming you've begun reading, how do you feel Divergent compares to The Hunger Games? I'm interested to know as I've thought about picking it up and giving it a read. Let me know!
